INVESTING IN INNOVATION

To ensure that Alta Seeds continues to get our industry-leading sorghum innovations into the hands of growers across the U.S., we’ve invested heavily in our processing and distribution center located in Hereford, Texas. This new multimillion-dollar investment includes 100,000 square feet of additional warehouse space, multiple seed lines and state-of-the-art equipment enhancements that allow us to apply Vertix™ sorghum seed treatments on our igrowth® and Empyr™ Premier Forage hybrids in-house. It also allows us to process and bag sorghum seed in flexible batches to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Sorghum Seed Production Capabilities
To ensure that more high-quality seed is available in more places, we’ve created a production system that yields 7,000 bags of sorghum seed per eight-hour shift. In addition, we own 143 bulk seed storage bins capable of storing 50 million pounds of bulk sorghum seed with a bagged seed storage capacity of 500,000 units. Once sorghum seed is ready to ship, we can load up to 30 truckloads a day.

SORGHUM TECHNOLOGY

Our proprietary technologies, which include Aphix™ SCA Tolerance and igrowth non-GMO herbicide-tolerant technology, offer better hybrids that increase productivity across multiple sorghum seed products and growing regions.
